A Genuine Sizzling Sensation of Japanese-Style Hamburger Steak
Hambagu is the Japanese-style Hamburg or hamburger steak that originated from Tartar steak, a meat dish made from finely chopped raw beef considered a real iconic dish in Hamburg in Germany. Easy to cook and with a super yummy taste, Hambagu is highly popular among both kids and adults. Japanese people normally enjoy this flavorful meat dish with steamed rice, or eat it with bread like a typical hamburger. Obviously, Hambagu is considered one of the must-try dishes featured in the menu lists of several family restaurants in Japan.
How to Make Hambagu
Ingredients
◆ 300 grams of minced meat (normally a mixture of minced beef and pork or either beef, pork, or chicken)
◆ 1/2 to 1 onion chopped finely
◆ 1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs (alternatively small pieces of bread)
◆ 1 egg
*** Always remember that breadcrumbs and egg will help create a perfect blend of Hamburg meat. Note that sometimes only the egg yolk is preferred.
◆ Salt
◆ Pepper
◆ Butter
◆ Vegetable oil
◆ Side dish items (fried potato, grilled mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, peas, and other preferred vegetables)
Directions
① Chop an onion finely and stir-fry with butter until it is fragrant.
② Thoroughly mix the butter-fried onion with minced meat, breadcrumbs, and egg.
Put some salt and sample its taste. Heat up the well-mixed ingredients in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
③ Take the microwave-heated ingredients out and leave for 20 minutes.
Mold the ingredients into a small ball-shaped piece and toss it from one hand to the other to get rid of the air remaining inside.
Press it into a flat shape and create a small hole in the middle to ensure that it will be cooked easily.
④ Sprinkle some pepper on both sides.
⑤ Put a little bit of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Use a medium heat to grill both sides until it is cooked thoroughly.
⑥ Arrange it on a dish garnished with prepared side dish items, such as fried potato, grilled mushrooms,
or other preferred vegetables, and pour some tasty sauce on top.
